| Bio: | NOTE TO ALL READERS OF MY LJ.... I am starting to realize that more people read this LJ of mine than I thought. The thing is... I LOVE this LiveJournal. And when I looked over everything I've put in here I realized I had a year of priceless memories in this dang thing now. I haven't kept up on a journal this well before EVER. But with so many people reading it, I had to make a decision on how much to put in here. And what I should mark private and such. My life is still pretty much an open book. I do not like secrets, they've caused me too much trouble in the past. But also, I LOVE my life today. I love my life, I love my woman, I love my home, and I love the good friends and family and influences in my life today. And sometimes I want to tell the world all about it. LiveJournal is not the world. I have few readers, but some are sensitive, and some have been invasive. So if I want to type some serious passion in this LJ, I'm gonna. And maybe I'll make it private and maybe I won't. And if it bugs you to read it, then maybe I wasn't talking to you. Now on to my bio.... I am a skeptic, a lesbian, a liberal, a wife, an atheist, a homeowner, a banker, a college graduate, an artist, a tattoo canvas, a human rights activist, a motorcyclist.... and sometimes a drag king. I'm 35, and a die-hard 80's rocker. I moved to Portland 2.5 years ago after living in San Diego for 20 years. I'm so in love with my wife, that you'll want to barf at all the sappy, mushy stuff I say about her. My character quirks: I love history. I love to learn where things come from and how they work. Because of today's political and religious climate, I read a LOT of religious history. I love the transgendered. I love coming-out stories. I love connecting with Survivors. I love to read about all these subjects and more, and when I find a new passion, I buy a billion books on it- starting with the history of that subject. I love books that tell me information I can use. I love learning about money and finances, or home repairs, or legal subjects for same-sex couples. I collect information on everything that fascinates me. My Amazon Wish List and my home library are in constant evolution. What pisses me off: The thing that pisses me off the most today is how many religious groups are condemning gays. If they really wanted to make a huge difference in the world, they could take FRACTION of that energy/money/whatever away from trying to hurt an already abused community and instead try to use their resources to raise awareness about child abuse. I have peace and joy and respect in my home today, and I'm not afraid to keep it. My wife and I are protective of each other when people try to screw around with us, but we're so laid back, and calm when nobody brings us drama. We spend a lot of our time cuddling. (See? Toldya I was gross!) If I could have a pot-luck dinner, and invite ANYBODY, I'd have Isaac Asimov, Lenny Bruce, Jim Henson, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Mark Twain, Penny Marshall, Jim Morrison, Helen Keller, Stephen King, Friedrich Nietzsche, Majel Roddenberry, the Marquis de Sade, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Frank Zappa. That list will give me brain freeze on just wondering what they would COOK!!  | |
